In an effort to stay apace with the HTML5 train, digital media platform provider Polar Media recently announced its plans to unveil a new product line called MediaEverywhere, an HTML5-based content distribution solution for smartphones, tablets and desktops.
With MediaEverywhere, customers can utilize the solution’s audience intelligence and personalization features to enjoy reduced development times which will allow them to increase their monetization opportunities. HTML5-based apps created with MediaEverywhere can work on any device capable of running HTML5 code including tablets, phones and desktop computers.
As stated in a recent article, the newly added desktop component of MediaEverywhere marks a big step in a new direction for Toronto-based Polar Media as the company’s current product SMART is a white-label solution meant for creating apps across mobile platforms. Currently, SMART supports the iPhone, iPad, Android, BlackBerry (including PlayBook), Windows Phone and Nokia (News
- Alert).
Polar Media is expected to bring MediaEverywhere to the industry this year, first to its existing customers and then to the general public.
In addition to hopping aboard the HTML5 bandwagon, Polar Media also recently announced that it has secured an additional $6 million in funding. Previously, the company raised more than $3 million from private investors. The latest round of funding was led by growth equity firm Georgian Partners. Polar Media is expected to use the new funding to grow its team from 40 to 80 people this year and open new offices in New York and London.
