HTML5 Makes Websites Quicker, Lighter and All-Around Better

Over the last few months, there has been an awful lot of talk with regards to what HTML5 can truly do. A little while back, TMCnet reported that there are a number of different browsers that are all trying to find a way to best incorporate this new kind of programming language. Specifically, Mozilla (News - Alert), Google and Microsoft (to a lesser degree) have all been looking to get a leg up on their competitors. One of the ways browsers are trying to climb to the top of the HTML5 hill is by finding ways to make sure this programming language can even be used on mobile devices.

One of the main benefits of HTML5 is that it helps the average browser become a little smarter thanks to the much simpler programming language associated with HTML5. HTML5 enables developers to write less Javascript language, which makes the site easier to put up and easier to maintain. Moreover, the HTML5 browser allows developers to sit back and relax a bit more because the browser is able to carry out certain tasks by itself and not have to have every task mapped out for it.

HTML5 also has a set of orders that go along with the browser – such as tel, email, color, and datetime – that make inputting data that much easier. With these commands, developers can essentially pick from a list of tasks they want entered in rather than having to rollout an entire set of functions. Even better is that some commands that relied on Javascript to execute them, now work perfectly within the HTML5 language. This is especially good news for those who are looking to better integrate this language with a mobile browser.

The bottom line is that for those who are not computer programmers, HTML5 isn't going to be an obvious boost from the HTML they have been using for years. But the average user will see better, faster and lighter websites that enhance their browsing experience. For this reason alone, it appears that while it has its detractors, HTML5 is very much here to stay.
